Erika Yamin is excited to be joining Dr. Laufer's practice, having recently completed her doctoral coursework and dissertation research at The Chicago School. Erika also holds a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago, where she studied Psychology and Anthropology. Erika has worked with adults, adolescents, and couples on a range of issues, including anxiety, mood disorders, relationship concerns, and life transitions.
Erika is passionate about women’s reproductive mental health and has extensive academic and clinical experience in this area. Her doctoral work, entitled "Caring for the Whole Woman: A Program for Practitioners of Obstetrics and Gynecology", examines the need for and benefits of a specialized psychoeducational program for practitioners of Obstetrics/Gynecology.
After previously working as a birth doula, Erika has gone onto research and advocacy work related to improving women’s experiences during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Erika has worked clinically with a range of related issues, including infertility and loss.
As a clinician, Erika pulls from a few therapeutic styles including a psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive behavioral approach. Honoring the uniqueness of every individual, she tailors her approach to best facilitate each person’s journey and goals for growth. Erika has a warm and authentic approach, seeking to create a comfortable space to gain a complex understanding of her clients. She feels it is a privilege to help individuals gain both insight and skills. She works to be present without judgment in order to lay the foundation for healing and transformation, whereby a person can align awareness and action in order to create new life paths.

India Smith is a psychotherapist with a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago, where she studied clinical social work. India has experience working with adolescents and adults on a wide range of clinical issues including anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and trauma. India has most recently worked in substance abuse treatment where she offered both individual and group addiction counseling. India is passionate about perinatal mental health and is interested in working with new parents as they navigate at the complex issues associated with planning, pregnancy, and parenthood.
In addition to her professional experience, India is a member of the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy where she is currently completing a 2-year psychoanalytic training program.
As a clinician, India works from a psychodynamic, relational framework which places emphasis on creating a safe holding environment and trusting relationship between the client and the therapist. She is passionate about harm reduction and aims to engage clients with warmth and empathy, regardless of their readiness for change. She is also interested in the mind-body connection, and appreciates the integration of mindfulness and meditation into psychotherapy. India believes that change and growth occur when we are able to understand how our past informs our present and when we discover new ways of relating to ourselves and others.

Maranda Easton is excited to be joining Dr. Laufer's practice after recently earning her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Chicago. She has worked most recently with adolescents on a wide range of clinical concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, identity and LGBTQ+ issues, relationship issues, and life transitions. Maranda grounds her therapeutic practice in values of genuine relationship, self-determination, and social justice. She pulls together relational, psychodynamic, and mindfulness therapies to create a holding environment that honors every person's felt sense of themselves, their lives, and where they find vitality. Maranda collaborates with clients to build a warm and affirming space where they can feel heard and understood in all their complexity and uniqueness.
